Department of Aging

Older adults have contributed a great deal to the prosperity and traditions of Tioga County. The major intent of the Department of Aging is to assist the elderly to remain in their homes and to participate in family and community life as long as possible. The Department of Aging provides assistance in accessing programs and services for eligible seniors. 

Access Services: information and referral, elder caregiver support, long-term care ombudsman program, transportation referrals and Senior SCOOP.

Nutrition Services: Countryside Cafe, home-delivered meals for homebound elderly and nutrition education and counseling.

In-Home Services: Expanded In-home Services for the Elderly Program, Personal Emergency Response System, Telephone Resassurance Program, Emergency Cards and Caregiver Respite.

Community-Based Services: Countryside Community Center, NY Connects, Senior Health Fair and Expo,
Senior Employment Program, health insurance counseling, senior health promotions and legal services.
