The Countryside Community Center, 9 Sheldon Guile Blvd., Owego, NY, provides space for a wide range of activities or events for individuals, families, or businesses at a reasonable cost. The Center can accommodate different types of activities and group sizes with its many meeting rooms, commercial kitchen, and large dining room.

  Community Garden

Community Garden pic

The Community Garden offers the opportunity to grow fruits and vegetables for a healthier diet. The garden is located at the Countryside Community Center. Tioga County’s Cornell Cooperative Extension teaches ways to get a high yield to stretch your food dollars by gardening.

The Countryside Community Center hosts special events because of its size, location, parking, handicap facilities and pleasant atmosphere. Many organizations partner with TOI to provide education and information meetings, entertainment and parties for the community throughout the year.

Inspire - www.inspiresve.org

CFC community center

Tioga Opportunities, Inc. and the Spencer-Van Etten non-profit organization INSPIRE have formed a partnership, combing resources to continue the vision of INSPIRE.

INSPIRE will help the Spencer-Van Etten community LIVE, LEARN, RENEW, and SUSTAIN. Our programs will enhance the quality of life of all individuals living in and around our community through programs that:

  • Enhance health and vitality
  • Increase the availability and quality of individual and group housing
  • Stimulate for life-long learning
  • Promote economic renewal and development
  • Encourage social and environmental responsibility

 

Tioga Works

 

This program provides employment to transitional workers who are receiving cash benefits from the Department of Social Services, and helps them find an unsubsidized job.  Increasing employment skills helps people get jobs, promote self-worth, create a higher quality of life, contributes to the local economy, and in some cases, a step toward breaking generational poverty.
