Tioga Opportunities, Inc. is honored to be the recipient of a very generous grant from Tioga County Senior Citizens Foundation. A $7,500.00 award was presented to Maureen Abbott, Executive Director, and Christine Shaver, Director of Program Operations, this week by David Woodburn. The grant will be used to support the Home Delivered Meals program and ensure that home bound older adults have access to nutritious meals right at their doorstep. The Tioga County Senior Citizens Foundation was established in 1982 with funds from the sale of the Owego Home for Aged Women which provided care to older women for decades on Front Street in Owego, NY. The goal of this charitable foundation is to enhance the quality of life of senior citizens living in Tioga County, New York. Awards are made to those applicants providing direct services to senior citizens including organizations and agencies which assist seniors with food pantries, support for health and safety, transportation, shelter and residential repairs.
