Walk With Ease

Tioga Opportunities, Inc. is thrilled to announce its partnership with the Arthritis Foundation to host the Walk with Ease program at the Countryside Community Center located at 9 Sheldon Guile Blvd., Owego. This six-week program, starting on June 25th and ending on July 30th, offers a unique opportunity for adults with arthritis to enhance their physical activity levels while alleviating pain and improving their overall health.

The Walk with Ease program, designed by the Arthritis Foundation, has been scientifically proven to alleviate arthritis pain, enhance balance, strengthen muscles, and boost walking pace. It is designed for individuals who wish to become more physically active and requires only the ability to stand for at least 10 minutes without increased pain.

The sessions will take place every Tuesday at 2:00 PM, with rain dates scheduled for Thursdays of the same week. Participants will gather at the Countryside Community Center and will walk together around the track at Owego Free Academy. Participants walk at their own pace for durations ranging from 10 to 35 minutes.

All participants will receive the Walk with Ease guidebook FREE. This comprehensive guide offers valuable insights on preparing for walks, initiating a walking routine, and staying motivated to persevere.
