Housing Rehabilitation Coordinator

The person in this position assures increased health and safety of housing for customers through the coordination of various housing rehabilitation programs; responsible for ensuring safety, regulatory, contractual, and code compliance; assisting with administering project deliverables; and supervising rehabilitation staff.

     MINIMUM QUALIFICATION

    • A graduate from a regionally accredited two year college with an associate degree OR Vocational or specialized construction trade certificate AND three years of experience in public administration, construction, property management or a related field and one year supervisory experience; OR
    • An equivalent combination of training and experience as indicated above.
    REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
      • Must have computer skills to perform efficiently; i.e. MS Word, Excel, etc.
      • Must have knowledge of housing inspection and construction methods, procedures, and practices
      • Must have the ability to communicate solutions to health & safety concerns to property owners, contractors, code officials, and public officials
      • Must be calm, flexible, organized, and be able to work in an office setting

      Qualified Nutritionist/ Breastfeeding Coordinator

      The person in this position contributes to the nutritional health and well-being of mothers, infants, and children through comprehensive nutrition education and assessments.

      • Conducts a complete nutrition assessment, determines program eligibility, and enrolls participants
      • Prescribe, tailor, authorize, issue, and reissue all food packages
      • Provides and documents any basic participant-centered nutrition assessment/ education (individual/family sessions and facilitated group discussions) for all participants
      • Provides leadership in developing, conducting and evaluation of training for staff in breastfeeding education topics
      • Develops, implements, and coordinates all breastfeeding promotion and support activities, including the Breastfeeding Peer Counselor Program
      • Directs and supervises the activities of the peer counselors
      • Coordinates and implements Peer Counselor training program including recruitment, management, and assignment of active peer counselors

         MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

          • Preferred: Registered Dietitian (R. D.)
          • If not an IBCLC or CLC, within the first year of hire, attend a 40-hour lactation counseling course

          OR EITHER OF THE FOLLOWING:

          • Nutrition and Dietetics Technician, Registered (DTR/NDTR)
          • Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate health-related field from an accredited college or university with at least 6 credit hours in nutrition,
          • Registered Nurse (RN) with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university

            Energy Services Specialist

            JOB SUMMARY

             MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

            • High school diploma or equivalent  OR two years training or experience in carpentry, air sealing, and insulation installation OR
            • Equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable to the agency

            Salary: $16.00/hour plus incentives

            Type of position: 40 hours per week, 7AM – 5:30 PM; Monday – Thursday

            Energy Services Auditor

            An Energy Auditor is a building analyst that evaluates and analyzes buildings for energy efficiency, health and safety; gathers data, conducts tests and uses energy modeling software with the goal of identifying areas for savings, reducing energy consumption, improving health and safety, and increasing the lifespan of a building while also improving the quality of life and comfort for building occupants.

            • Interviews clients to obtain household energy usage data, and performs initial home inspection
            • Educates homeowners about basic energy conservation ideas and methods to enhance and protect the weatherization measures installed
            • Visually inspects the building shell and mechanical systems
            • Collects data, documents, and enters data into computerized energy audit or uses a priority list to select cost effective measures; reports for each unit weatherized
            • Performs diagnostic testing using a blower door, combustion analyzer, carbon monoxide sensor, etc.
            • Performs initial blower door tests to measure infiltration rates; uses blower door to direct air sealing measures, utilizes computer software to generate work scope and obtain state approval.
            • Estimates duration of job and quantity of materials needed for weatherization activities
            • Prepares clear and accurate work orders to ensure the most appropriate measures are installed properly and efficiently

             MINIMUM QUALIFICATION

            • High School diploma or equivalent with a minimum of three years in a construction or energy technology field; OR
            • Equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable to the agency
            REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
            • Ability to inspect job site and write a work plan so weatherization work is conducted safely, effectively, and efficiently
            • Math, reading, writing, and computer skills relevant to the position, in addition to skill and knowledge of basic construction principles, terminology and basic energy principles, knowledge of installation procedures
            • Demonstrates physical ability to perform job duties
            • Ability to obtain Building Performance Institute (BPI) certification as a Building Analyst and Building Envelope within 12 months
            • Requires all the certifications mandated for Energy Services Specialists; may include OSHA 10 or 30-hour Safety Training Program, any applicable hazardous material training; and Weatherization/ Energy Efficiency Training

            Salary: $19.90/hour

            Tioga Tells Project Coordinator VISTA

            Are you looking for a way to make an positive impact in the community?

            Tioga Opportunities Inc. and the Rural Health Network is seeking to fill the role of Tioga Tells Project Coordinator VISTA.

            The Tioga Tells Project VISTA Member will use information gleaned from Year One and Year Two of the Tioga Tells Project specific to the identified issue that Tioga County residents do not feel that they have an active role in the decision-making process in the county and distrust the decision-makers in the county
            overall. Working in conjunction with the Department of Planning and Development at Tioga Opportunities, Inc.,  the VISTA member will research evidence-based options, develop, and implement a “Leadership/Civic Engagement Curriculum” which will be designed to provide education, training, and “tools” for local disenfranchised residents who have historically been disconnected from or shut out of civic engagement
            opportunities, advocacy efforts, and decision-making roles.

            With knowledge comes power. Through education and awareness of skills needed to be effective at speaking at public meetings, writing a letter to the editor, providing written testimony to proposed changes in regulations, how to run a meeting and articulate your point of view or opinions, participants will be
            equipped to take an active role in their neighborhood, municipality, school district, or other community
            efforts. In doing so, participants will bring the voice of the “disenfranchised or marginalized” residents into the overall decision-making processes.

            Potential VISTA candidates should have excellent research and data analysis skills, proven experience in setting up and working with a data base, experience in making presentation to groups, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently.

            Maintenance Worker

            Home Delivered Meals Driver

            The person in this position is responsible for transporting home delivered meals for the Department’s nutrition services program to clients in Tioga County.

            • Loads and transports food from the central kitchen to home delivered meals (HDM) clients
            • Collects HDM contributions and places in lock box in the vehicle
            • Removes equipment/debris daily; maintains and cleans vehicles weekly
            • Maintains vehicle operation through daily maintenance checks and refueling
            • Maintains HDM meal temperature log
            • Assists with end of day clean up in the nutrition program

               MINIMUM QUALIFICATION

              • Must be at least 21 years of age, have and maintain a valid driver’s license, and have a level of experience acceptable to the Agency
              REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
                  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions
                  • Ability to work well with others
                  • Physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position

                  Salary: $13.20/hr
