JOB SUMMARY

The person in this position is responsible for assisting the crew leader in the installation of energy saving measures and the correction of health and safety issues using a variety of building science best practices to improve safety, comfort, durability, indoor air quality, and energy efficiency when weatherizing the homes of low-income, elderly, and other qualified clients

 MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent  OR two years training or experience in carpentry, air sealing, and insulation installation OR
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable to the agency

Salary: $15.00/hour plus incentives

Type of position: 40 hours per week, 7AM – 5:30 PM; Monday – Thursday

Housing Specialist

TOI is looking for a person who has experience in human services and/or property management. The person in this position will work with the operations for TOI’s rental housing and Section 8 Housing Choice Rental Assistance.

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for facilitating smooth and efficient operations for agency rental housing and the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Rental Assistance Program; holistic housing services to meet health and safety standards and to establish self-sufficiency and financial stability.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • A graduate from a regionally accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor’s degree in a Business Management, Property Management or the Human Services field AND two years’ work experience in property management or human services; OR
  • A graduate from a regionally accredited two-year college with an associate degree AND four years of experience in property management, real estate, or human services; OR
  • Work experience in property management, real estate or human services can be substituted for the college degree based on two years’ experience for one year of college education.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

  • Must have a working knowledge of tenant/landlord rights and ability to interpret and apply program regulations
  • Must have ability to work with the public; must be calm, flexible, organized, and be able to work in a modern office setting
  • Must have computer, and verbal and written communication skills
  • Must have the skills necessary to perform detailed records keeping, perform basic bookkeeping and maintain organized files

Salary: $15.00/hour

JOB SUMMARY

The person in this position is responsible for the planning, executing, and ensuring Affordable Home Corporation standards are met; develops and maintains a positive working relationship with homeowners and contractors; also responsible for the implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of housing rehabilitation activities; supports the department in reviewing and approving jobs

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School diploma or equivalency diploma required AND two years’ work experience in the field of construction trades, building maintenance, or building inspection

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

  • Must have knowledge of housing inspection techniques, procedures, and practices in order to diagnose and analyze housing conditions
  • Must have a working knowledge of construction methods and materials and building maintenance problems
  • Must have the ability to communicate solutions of housing maintenance problems to property owners
  • Must have good oral and written skills to be able to communicate verbally and in writing with tenants and owners, contractors, code officials, and public officials

Salary: $1550/hour

Type of position: Full-time, non-exempt, Monday- Friday, 35 hours per week

Services Specialist

JOB SUMMARY

Contributes to the health and nutrition of older adults by coordinating services through the Home Delivered Meals program.

  • Responsible for HDM program services including pre-screening for eligibility of clients, entry into meal delivery system, and handling of delivery issues
  • Coordinates HDM routes and schedules employee and volunteer HDM drivers
  • Provides delivery labels for use in the kitchen; assists with HDM delivery paper processing
  • Drives and delivers meals when needed

In accordance with program requirements, contacts clients on a periodic basis to assure delivery meets standards and clients retain eligibility

 MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • A graduate from a regionally accredited or New York State registered four year college or university with a Bachelor’s degree AND one year of full-time paid experience in human services or a related field; OR
  • A graduate from a regionally accredited or New York State registered two year college with an Associate’s degree AND three years of experience in human services or a related field; OR
  • Graduation from high school or possession of a High School Equivalency Diploma AND five years of experience in human services or a related field; OR
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Understanding of the characteristics, needs, and problems of older adults
  • Must have computer skills to perform efficiently, e.g. MS Office
  • Must possess strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to follow instructions and solve problems within established policies and make decisions with minimum supervision

Salary: $14.50/hour
