Too often, Veterans and their families never learn what they’ve earned. Too often, Veterans of the United States Military never even realize that there are special benefits, programs, services, and resources available to them by virtue of their service.
The NYS Office for the Aging, the Association on Aging in New York, and New York State Division of Veterans’ Services have partnered with GetSetUp — a peer-to-peer online learning community — to offer a series of free online courses on Veterans’ benefits.
In this series of courses, subject-matter experts from the New York State Division of Veterans’ Services clear up the all-too-prevalent myths surrounding Veterans’ benefits, opening doors for Veterans and Military Families to receive everything that rightfully belongs to them.
The class covers:
Beginning Friday, January 7, at 11:00am running every Friday at 11:00am until February 4th. You are not obligated to attend all of the sessions.
January 7th – MythBusters! Getting rid of the mythology that has prevented you from getting the Veterans’ benefits that you rightfully earned.
January 14th – Disability Compensation: How to receive fair compensation for any injuries or illnesses that you received in military service.
January 21st – VA Health Care: Making your connections with healthcare services from the United States Department of Veterans Affairs.
January 28th – Character Of Discharge Cases: Righting historical injustices for Veterans regarding the character of discharge.
February 4th – Focusing On The Family: Benefits, services, and resources for the immediate family members of Veterans.
