Tioga Opportunities, Inc. is pleased to announce that we are the recipients of a very generous grant from the Tioga County Senior Citizens Foundation. David Woodburn presented the award in the amount of $16,000 to our Executive Director, Maureen Abbott. The grant will be used to aid in continuing to meet the unmet needs of older adults in Tioga County.
The Tioga County Senior Citizens Foundation was established in 1982 with funds from the sale of the Owego Home for Aged Women which provided care to older women for decades on Front Street in Owego, NY. The goal of this charitable foundation is to enhance the quality of life of senior citizens living in Tioga County, New York. Awards are made to those applicants providing direct services to senior citizens including organizations and agencies which assist seniors with food pantries, support for health and safety, transportation, shelter and residential repairs. Additionally, support is provided for senior activities, libraries, arts and entertainment.
TOI would like to thank the Senior Citizens Foundation for their generous and continued support!
